BIOGRAPHY
Ms. Johnson has been with RP Law Group since 2011, helping injured workers navigate all aspects of the workers’ compensation system. Ms. Johnson is the office manager. She came to RP Law Group after nine years of experience working on behalf of workers’ compensation insurance companies and third-party administrators (various adjusters). Ms. Johnson earned her paralegal certificate at California Southern Law School – Riverside after obtaining her bachelor’s degree in French at La Sierra University – Riverside in 1990. She has worked with a principal attorney to facilitate his UCR workers’ compensation class in the past. For Ms. Johnson, it is the fact that she is helping injured workers get the medical treatment and benefits they need that keeps her motivated though she also enjoys the challenge of legal writing.
Ms. Johnson’s principle role in the office is to resolve communication problems and to help navigate the injured worker through the very complex workers’ compensation system.
AREAS OF EXPERIENCE
If you have been injured at work, contact our Riverside practice immediately to make an appointment with RP Law Group.
Injured employees also have the right to file a claim over injuries resulting from repetitive movement or exposure to environmental hazards such as excessive noise, in addition to those resulting from acute incidents such as falls.
Mental stress claims are scrutinized more closely than any other type of workers’ compensation claim. This is because these conditions often lack easily-visible symptoms and are primarily based on testimony from the employee.
If you are out of work due to a legitimate injury, it’s highly likely that you can’t afford to go without income for very long. The last thing you need is additional stress while you focus on your recovery. Delayed claims often force people to go back to work before they are physically ready, which can cause worsened medical conditions later.
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a serious and painful condition that affects the wrist and hand. Without proper rest and treatment, it can eventually necessitate surgery. Many medical experts believe that repetitive stress motions cause or exacerbate the syndrome, especially if you spend the majority of your day on these tasks.
